A Special Report from Jim Driscoll
Today we’re going to expand our horizons. It’s time to Dream. World Class Goal Achievers dream big dreams. If you don’t believe me, just ask anyone who has ever achieved anything big in life, and they will tell you it all started with a big dream. And the bigger the achievement the bigger the dream was. The Super-Successful have dreams so powerful that their desire is unstoppable.
Remember, desire is the power source that drives the Super-Successful to achieve their dreams, and dreams are what super-charge the desire.
The problem is most people have been conditioned not to dream. Think back to grade school at all the times you were told from your parents or teacher to, “Stop daydreaming.”
Or worse, how many have been conditioned not to believe in the possibility of achieving our dreams. Studies show that by the time a child turns 18 years old, they have been told, on average, 148,000 times “stop that; don’t do that; youcan’t do that; what made you think you can do that”.
No wonder Mark Twain said, “Most people die at the age of 27, they’re just not buried until there 70.” It’s so true.
We have been conditioned that we have to deal with reality, and so there is no time to dream. And there is definitely no time to do anything about our dreams.
No words can describe how sad this fact is. Because you see, imagination and dreams are the seedlings of reality. They are the greatest gift God gave us and yet very few of us indulge ourselves in this gift. They were given to us as God’sway to share and communicate with us.
Did you know that the word desire originates from the Latin words (De) and (Sire), which means -From the Father-. Thousands of years ago, they were wise enough to know that our dreams and desires originate from the Father, and believe me, if God gives you a dream, he will provide you with a way to obtain it. There is absolutely nothing you cannot be, do or have in this wonderful life we live.
So here’s some great news, all is not lost; you know you are still reading this because you still have a dream. You still want to believe in your dreams, right?
But your negative conditioning is strong. It started shortly after birth. In learning to exist in a dangerous world we had to learn that we shouldn’t do many things, like touching the hot stove, to avoid being hurt.
Now don’t get me wrong, some of this conditioning was mandatory. Otherwise we would live with constant injury and pain from our continual injuries. However, too many times, we become so over conditioned, that our dreams become the causality.
Remember this, all big achievers had unrealistic dreams in the eyes of their peers. But the achievers didn’t let the common opinion of others get in their way.
Their negative conditioning may have caused some fear of failure. Their negativeconditioning may have caused doubts about the possibility of success. Their negative conditioning may have even caused concern about the waste of effort by pursuing something everyone else believed to be impossible. But they didn’t let those thoughts stop them. Instead, they learned to manage their negative thoughts. Everyone has those thoughts. And that’s OK. But if you give them strength by entertaining them for even a moment in your conscious mind, you run the risk of allowing them to become impressed upon your subconscious mind. And if that happens, your dreams can lose their believability. And unbelievable dreams have no power. Unbelievable dreams produce no desire.
World Class Goal Achievers have learned to be 100% aware of all the thoughts that enter their conscious mind. They guard their thoughts because they are fully aware that the thoughts they allow to enter their subconscious mind willdetermine their feelings, and those feelings drive actions, and actions produce your results.
Don’t entertain your negative thoughts, instead, focus on your dreams. As I said earlier, dreams are the seedlings of your reality. Focus continuously on your big dreams. Those dreams will produce good feelings in you and, as we just said, those good feelings will produce good actions and good actions produce your good results.
To amplify your dreams make them real in your mind. Make a mental image, in great detail, of the dream. Put yourself into that image. See yourself living in that image. The more real you make the image the more power you generate.
Go through that process with all your dreams. Make them real in your mind first. Give them power. The more power you give your dreams, the more you stoke the fire of your desire.
Embrace the great quote, “You are the master of your fate, the captain of your ship.” You are truly the creator of your life, so dream big.
Learn it, Live it, Pass it on.
